Radiological Team Lead

As a key member of the Holtec International team, you will lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for producing the radiological protection, radioactive waste management, and fuel and core safety case for the SMR-160 small modular reactor. This critical role requires leadership experience in the production of nuclear safety case documentation to meet UK regulatory expectations.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Licensing and will work closely with the US SMR Nuclear Lead. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting emerging technology and energy marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers producing radiological protection, radioactive waste management, and fuel and core safety case documentation.
  • Develop and implement safety case strategies to meet UK regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the US SMR Nuclear Lead to ensure alignment with global regulatory expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including nuclear regulators.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline.
  • Excellent credentials in principles of radiological assessments.
  • Ability to work independently and balance competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in nuclear fuel performance and assessments.
  • Experience in chemistry considerations of PWR primary circuit.
  • Experience with environmental cases for nuclear facilities.
