The Specialist Engineer (Radiological Assessment) will provide support for radiological assessments across Waste & Decommissioning projects in a hybrid arrangement, allowing flexibility to travel to sites on an occasional basis.
About the Role
- Support team members in delivering assessments, including:
- Radiation dose calculations for workers or public
- Radiological Shielding
- Radiological Assay
- Criticality Safety Assessment
- Radiological inventory management
- Waste package compliance with transport and disposal criteria
- Develop knowledge and experience in one or more discipline areas to enable progression towards an Intelligent Customer / Subject Matter Expert role.
Requirements
- Degree in a suitable technical subject, e.g., chemistry / physics or National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 6.
- Membership of an appropriate scientific or engineering institution.
- Ability to work with large volumes of data in a systematic manner.
- Adaptable and able to work on a variety of different projects.
- Good report writing skills.
- Good computer literacy skills.
