Job Summary

The Specialist Engineer (Radiological Assessment) will provide support for radiological assessments across Waste & Decommissioning projects in a hybrid arrangement, allowing flexibility to travel to sites on an occasional basis.


About the Role
  • Support team members in delivering assessments, including:
    • Radiation dose calculations for workers or public
    • Radiological Shielding
    • Radiological Assay
    • Criticality Safety Assessment
    • Radiological inventory management
    • Waste package compliance with transport and disposal criteria
  • Develop knowledge and experience in one or more discipline areas to enable progression towards an Intelligent Customer / Subject Matter Expert role.

Requirements
  • Degree in a suitable technical subject, e.g., chemistry / physics or National Qualifications Framework (NQF) level 6.
  • Membership of an appropriate scientific or engineering institution.
  • Ability to work with large volumes of data in a systematic manner.
  • Adaptable and able to work on a variety of different projects.
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills.
