About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Delivery Driver to join our team at Tesco. As a key member of our delivery team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring that our customers receive their shopping in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver customer shopping trips in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring that all products are delivered in good condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure that the van and trays are clean and tidy, and that all products are stored and handled in accordance with Tesco's standards.
  • Load and unload products from the van, ensuring that all products are delivered to the correct location.
  • Communicate with customers regarding any changes to their order, including substitutions and short code items.
  • Take care of products and deliveries as if they were your own, ensuring that all products are handled with care and attention to detail.
  • Deliver during the customer's time slot, and call the customer before arriving at their property if early.
  • Call the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.

Requirements:
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift and move products safely, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Tesco's products and services, and a willingness to learn and develop your skills.
