Community Rehabilitation Expert Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Rehabilitation Expert to join our team in Northumberland. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering community-based rehabilitation services to residents with physical disabilities, mental health problems, or learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify residents' needs and develop personalized rehabilitation plans.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide expert guidance on adaptive equipment, minor and major adaptations, manual handling assessments, and recommendations.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles, practices, and best practices. A background in occupational therapy or a related field is essential.

This full-time fixed-term position is based at Dene Park House in Hexham, Northumberland, with opportunities to work agile from home and other NCC sites across the county as required.

A competitive salary of £38,890 - £43,041 (NCC Salary Band 7) is offered, along with a range of benefits, including 26 days annual leave plus public/bank holidays, rising to 31 days after 5 years of service, and automatic enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualification in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
  • Post-graduate experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
