This role presents a unique opportunity to join the Longleat team as a Risk Management Specialist. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislative requirements and company policy and procedures.

You will work closely with the Health, Safety and Compliance Manager to facilitate and promote H&S throughout the business. The role provides a mix of on-site and office-based work with both employee and guest focus.

Key duties include:

  • Supporting managers and staff across the business to understand legislative requirements and practical ways of implementing such.
  • Carrying out and documenting central risk assessments and equipment inspections, progressing any recommendations that arise.
  • Assisting departments with the creation and review of their risk assessments and equipment inspections.
  • Logging incident reports on the central database and reviewing them for any further required actions, supporting investigations where necessary.
  • Providing internal H&S training to managers and staff and coordinating external training.

In order to be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of core H&S legislation.
  • A full driving license.
  • Experience of conducting site inspections and incident investigation.
  • Experience of writing and reviewing risk assessments.

This is a permanent 40 hour contract, working 5 days out of 7, including weekends, evening and bank holidays as required. The earliest start time is 8am, and the latest finish time is 8pm, varying in accordance with opening times.
