Job Overview
We are seeking a full-time specialist in gynaecology with a particular interest in endometriosis to join our dynamic team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This fixed-term position is based at the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and development.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a general gynaecology clinic, endometriosis clinic, and two operating lists per week, with a session of MDT and gynaecology on-call duties. We welcome applicants who are unable to work full-time and will discuss modifications to the job content on a personal basis.

To be successful in this role, you must be registered with the GMC with a valid license to practice, have completed specialist training, and be entered on the specialist register or have a CCT date within six months of interview. Person Specification
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced gynaecology specialist who possesses the following qualities:
- Registered with the GMC with a license to practice
- Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty
- Postgraduate professional qualifications as appropriate to the post
- Ability to critically assess published research and incorporate it into clinical practice
- Experience of teaching student doctors and doctors in training
- Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
- Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Experience in performing clinical audit
- Ability to work as an independent practitioner
- Evidence of competence in advanced laparoscopic surgery
- Evidence of competence in advanced endometriosis surgery
- Experience in complex minimal access surgery
- Ability to deal with all complex obstetric and gynaecological emergency presentations
