Merchandise Coordinator

Job Description:
As a Junior Merchandiser at JD Group, you will play a crucial role in driving sales opportunities and supporting the Merchandiser in defining the strategy and planning of future ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review previous seasons and produce a SWOT analysis with supporting information.
- Create a category-level product mix using history, SWOT, and SMT plan.
- Formulate the space and grading plan for store distribution with the Senior Merchandiser.
- Ensure the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and KPIs are signed off with the Senior Merchandiser.
- Manage scheduling and Ideals for your area of responsibility.
- Attend key selection meetings with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer.
- Build the range plan and layout plans in conjunction with buying and visual merchandising.
- Oversee ratios for all buys with the Assistant Merchandiser.
- Ensure the buy matches the plan buy.
- Establish working relationships with suppliers.
- Manage order books and stock seasonality within the WSSI.
Trading:
- Review weekly trading performance and achieved KPIs, identifying issues and courses of action for the weekly trading meetings.
- Propose and agree actions to recover risk and maximize opportunities with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line level.
- Capture agreed actions in the monthly forecast reviews.
- Work up the forecast from category/season level to Buyer Group.
- Meet and gain approval for forecasting sales variance to plan, creating OTBs, managing commitments, and markdown proposals.
- Provide Retail with rack lists/hit lists through Merchandise Assistants.
- Manage the range plan in season, reflecting any changes.
- Manage linecards and intake at category and line level.
- Visit and understand the store base on a regular basis, creating action plans to optimize store performance.
- Manage store option plans to ensure each store has the optimum amount of stock.
Teamwork:
- Report to the Senior Merchandiser.
- Work with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer to deliver the plan.
- Guide and direct the Merchandising Team to help deliver the plan.
- Provide and monitor development plans for the Assistant Merchandiser/Merchandise Assistant on a regular basis.
- Communicate to the Retail Team anything that will impact store performance.
- Establish working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Finance, DC, etc.
