Mental Health Care Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse to provide high-quality care to patients experiencing mental health issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs and develop individualised care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, ensuring adherence to prescribed treatments.
- Provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families, fostering a therapeutic environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement treatment strategies and evaluate patient progress.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health nursing.
- Engage in crisis intervention when necessary, employing de-escalation techniques to ensure patient safety.
Requirements:
- Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- PMVA Certified
- Strong knowledge of patient care principles and practices, particularly in mental health settings.
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology relevant to mental health conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while also demonstrating initiative in patient care.
- Compassionate approach with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy towards patients' experiences.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the service needs.
