We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Ramsey Unit, a 15-bedded mental health unit for individuals with dementia.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to working within in-patient mental health services and will be able to offer effective clinical leadership and support to a team of registered nurses and nursing assistants.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and respectful approach, and the ability to work within a challenging in-patient mental health unit.

We offer a supportive and encouraging environment, with opportunities for staff development and lifelong learning. The successful post holder will be expected to fully engage in the supervision process and provide direct line management and supervision for others.

Main Responsibilities

The post holder will lead a team of registered nurses and nursing assistants in the delivery of mental health care, promoting the interests of service users and ensuring delegated nursing care is effectively implemented in a safe manner.

The successful candidate will exercise professional accountability and responsibility, using professional skills, knowledge, and expertise in changing environments, across professional boundaries, and in unfamiliar situations.

The post holder will also use research, audit, enquiry, and scholarship to plan, implement, and evaluate concepts and strategies leading to improvements in care.

Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RNMH) qualification
  • Preparation of mentors certificate, ENB 998, or equivalent
Key Skills and Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983
  • Ability to perform manage junior staff
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ward manager responsibilities and capability to act in the role in the absence of the same
Working Arrangements

The successful post holder will be expected to work shifts covering 24 hours, seven days a week, with both full and part-time contracts available.
