School Safety Specialist

Job Summary:
Tipton Community School Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our safety and security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the City of Tipton Police Department to provide law enforcement services and support to our school community.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent and respond to incidents.
- Provide training and education to students, staff, and parents on safety and security best practices.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and local law enforcement agencies.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
Requirements:
- Advanced degree in a related field (e.g. education, law enforcement, emergency management).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in law enforcement or a related field.
- Certification as a School Resource Officer (SRO) or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Advanced certification in school safety and security.
- Experience working with students, staff, and parents in a school setting.
