Product Specification Specialist

As a Product Specification Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all product specifications are meticulously completed, encompassing all necessary legal, safety, and customer-specific details.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **Management of Specifications:**
- Oversee the development and maintenance of finished product specifications within the organization, ensuring alignment with quality management systems and customer expectations.
2. **Educational Background:**
- A degree in a food-related field or equivalent industry experience is essential.
3. **Experience with Retailer Portals:**
- Familiarity with retailer specification platforms and policies is required, including those of major retailers.
4. **Template Completion:**
- Accurately complete both online and manual specification templates, including recipe details, ingredient declarations, nutritional information, allergen data, and all pertinent safety and legal information.
5. **Collaboration:**
- Work closely with Technical Managers, Product Developers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to produce comprehensive specifications that encompass all necessary quality, sourcing, safety, and legal information for products and packaging.
6. **Specification Approval:**
- Create, review, and approve finished product specifications and pack copies in accordance with customer-agreed formats and policies.
7. **Client Support:**
- Provide assistance to clients in the accurate completion of specifications and artwork projects through ongoing feedback and guidance.
8. **Pack Copy Review Meetings:**
- Organize and facilitate pack copy review meetings with Product Developers and relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency in artwork and adherence to project timelines in a cost-effective manner.
9. **Manual Maintenance:**
- Review and maintain Customer Specifications Manuals, ensuring all signed specifications are up to date.
10. **Workload Management:**
- Plan and prioritize tasks effectively to ensure the accurate delivery of multiple projects.
Skills and Attributes:
- Demonstrates a keen awareness of potential challenges, understanding their strategic implications for business performance.
- Ensures project completion within specified targets, evaluating outcomes against functional strategies and recommending necessary adjustments.
Reporting Structure:
- This position will report to Site Quality Managers and the Commercial Director.
