With a workforce of over 15,000 employees and a network of approximately 100 manufacturing and R&D facilities worldwide, we deliver high-quality products to major car brands globally.
We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Officer to support our manufacturing site in the UK. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, as well as maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage Site Safety and Environmental Issues: Ensure that site managers are aware of their responsibilities in HSE risk management and take necessary actions to mitigate potential hazards.
- Develop and Maintain HSE Policies and Procedures: Create and update site HSE policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate and Manage Actions: Coordinate and manage actions to deal with site safety issues, including conducting risk assessments and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage Training Activities: Develop and implement training programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Coordinate Testing and Maintenance: Coordinate the testing of fire alarms and emergency equipment, and maintain records of same.
- Coordinate Plant Risk Assessments: Work with departmental managers to conduct plant risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain Contractor Database: Maintain a database of contractors and their documentation.
- Manage Insurance Matters: Manage insurance claims and related matters.
- Coordinate Accident and Near Miss Reporting: Coordinate the reporting, investigation, and remedial actions for accidents and near misses.
- Liaison with External Parties: Liaise with landlords, local councils, contractors, and building surveyors as required.
- Develop and Maintain HSE KPIs: Create and maintain key HSE KPIs on a monthly basis.
- Ensure HSE Induction: Ensure that all new employees receive a robust HSE induction on commencement of employment.
- Internal HSE Audits: Conduct internal HSE audits according to plan and support all internal and external audit programs.
- Shop Floor Visibility: Maintain visibility on the shop floor through daily safety walks.
- Advisory Role: Provide advisory support on HSE-related matters as required.
- Excellent IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft packages.
- NEBOSH Certificate Level: Hold a NEBOSH Certificate level qualification.
- IOSH Managing Safely: Hold an IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Internal Auditor for ISO14001: Hold an Internal Auditor qualification for ISO14001.
- Experience in Environmental Management: Have experience in environmental management.
- Organized and Methodical Approach: Demonstrate an organized and methodical approach to role responsibilities.
- Experience in Similar Environment: Have experience working in a similar environment.
- Ability to Work to Deadlines: Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines.
- Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail in maintaining HSE records.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication skills to deal with managers and employees at all levels.
