Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team at PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in NEC3/4 contract administration and a proven track record of delivering commercial and contractual control on complex projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of commercial activity are managed effectively, including subcontract negotiations, risk mitigation, and contract administration.

You will work closely with our commercial and quantity surveying teams to provide commercial advice and guidance, and will be responsible for maintaining dialogue with operational management to ensure that commercial activity is aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure commercial and contractual control on complex projects
  • Negotiate subcontract terms and mitigate risks
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance to commercial and quantity surveying teams
  • Maintain dialogue with operational management to ensure commercial activity is aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure accurate internal reporting of project status, including risk, costs, and profit
  • Review and negotiate terms and conditions, and assist with tenders, bids, and negotiations
  • Provide end-to-end commercial management and contract administration for multiple contracts and projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in NEC3/4 contract administration
  • A proven track record of delivering commercial and contractual control on complex projects
  • Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law
  • Knowledge and understanding of tendering and procurement processes
  • Ability to apply the knowledge and principles of quantity surveying to complex and challenging schemes
  • Experience in managing contractual relationships between clients, customers, and contractors
  • Comprehensive commercial understanding of contract price build-ups
  • Ability to understand and explain complex contracts and clauses to non-commercial teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactive work ethic and ability to ensure invoicing is raised on time to manage levels of WIP throughout the project lifecycle
