The Role:

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Security as the Data Protection Officer. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring internal compliance, advising on data protection obligations, conducting DPIAs, and serving as a contact point for data subjects and the Information Commissioners Office (ICO).

  • Advise on data protection obligations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies to minimize risk and ensure business continuity.
  • Maintain accurate records of data processing activities, including purposes, categories of data, recipients, and retention periods.
  • Inform and advise management teams, employees, and associated processors about their obligations to comply with the UK GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints from individuals related to their rights under data protection laws.
  • Implement and oversee document retention systems to ensure compliance with data protection principles and legal requirements.

This role requires a strong understanding of data protection laws and practices, including expertise in GDPR. Experience in conducting investigations, project management, and stakeholder engagement is also essential.

Requirements:

  • Three or more years of experience in data protection compliance or a related field.
  • Expertise in data protection laws and practices, including a deep understanding of GDPR.
  • Experience in conducting investigations, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or the ability to gain it.
