About the Role:This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of resilience and ability to work with young people who may be vulnerable. As a Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and healthy environment for the young people living in our residential settings.
Key Responsibilities:- Work in line with person-centred risk assessments and support plans to provide a responsive and quality service to young people.
- Observe any changes in behaviour and document and report changes in support needs.
- Maintain positive working relationships with young people, staff, and professionals by communicating effectively at all times.
- Ensure continuous support is provided to young people at the standards of day staff, with a particular focus on the safety of vulnerable people.
- Carry out health and safety actions, including cleaning tasks, and adhere to set policies and procedures.
- Liaise with external agencies, such as the police and Emergency Duty Team (EDT).
- Support young people who need to attend the hospital or police station.
- Experience of supporting young people who may be vulnerable.
- Flexibility in availability, including weekend work.
- Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
- Be willing to travel and hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent computer skills.
