As a Career Development Professional at Global Banking School, you will be part of an exciting careers team that enhances student employability and supports students in transitioning into the workforce. Your role will involve collaborating with the Head of Careers, Employability, and Enterprise and the academic team to embed careers education within the curriculum.


The successful candidate will work in partnership with Placement Officers, who support students required to complete work placements. As the primary contact for careers support and advice at your campus, you will work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a national service.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain industry networks: Proactively develop relationships with professionals and contacts to stay updated on sector knowledge and expertise, supporting career events.
  • Deliver workshops and appointments: Provide online and face-to-face training sessions to students and offer one-to-one guidance.
  • Bespoke careers programmes: Manage and deliver tailored initiatives such as the GBS Mentoring Scheme, Employability Award, and Countdown to your Graduate Destination.
  • Create career guides: Develop a range of printed and online resources covering various industries and key employability skills.
  • Lead projects: Oversee initiatives enhancing employability skills and professional development.
  • Promote job opportunities: Assist employers in advertising positions to our students through our online platform, targeted emails, and careers newsletter.
  • Collaborate with academics: Contribute to developing careers education sessions and workshops within the curriculum.
  • Market the careers service: Promote our services to local businesses and industry partners, as well as non-profit organizations and SMEs.
  • Travel between campuses: Undertake some travel between Global Banking School's campuses.
  • Flexible working hours: Be prepared to adapt your schedule to cover evening and weekend demands as necessary.
  • Understanding adult learners: Demonstrate empathy towards challenges faced by adult learners and returners to education.
  • Negotiation and networking skills: Possess effective communication and negotiation skills.
