SEND Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher to join our team at Empowering Learning. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, although this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:- Teaching a range of subjects within a SEND school setting
- Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning
- Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
- Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
- Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
- Possibly supervising on lunch and break times
- Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
- Building relationships with staff and pupils
- Collecting evidence of pupils' work to support their assessments
- Providing feedback to the relevant member of staff about pupils' progress
- Having pastoral responsibility for a group of pupils
The ideal candidate will have QTS or equivalent, a high level of understanding of different SEND and learning styles, and the ability to teach across age groups. Knowledge of primary and secondary age curriculum expectations is also essential. If you are a motivated and organised individual with excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you.
