Transforming the Future of Sustainability

British American Tobacco is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Research and Development function in Southampton as an Undergraduate Intern - New Categories R&D Sustainability. This 12-month placement offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable materials and products, reducing the environmental impact of our New Category products.

About the Role

As an Undergraduate Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the Life Cycle Analysis of our New Category products, processing data, and conducting trend analysis on environmental impact. You will also update key performance metrics on circularity and collaborate with design teams to develop alternative materials and designs for lower carbon initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemistry, Biology, Materials, or Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Data analysis and attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Environmental and sustainability knowledge, with a passion for sustainability
