Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our new acute Mental Health service, which is set to open in Summer 2024. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the care pathways and contributing to the development of our culture.

If you have experience working with people in inpatient settings who may be treated under the Mental Health Act and are passionate about providing treatment for individuals affected by mental disorders, we encourage you to apply.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the safe assessment, treatment, and discharge of individuals admitted to our service
  • Medication management and quality assurance
  • Delivery of NICE guidance and leadership of the CPA and ICR process

You will also be required to participate in the On Call Consultant rota.

Key requirements include:

  • Medical qualification and MRC Psych or equivalent
  • Ability to innovate and lead corporate decisions
  • Substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary issues in mental health
