Job Summary:

Unlimit is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Expert to lead our Compliance team in the UK. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that our business operations are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Policy Development: Develop, maintain, and amend a suite of policies, guidelines, frameworks, procedures, manuals, and instructions on various matters in accordance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Manage the company's relationship with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) through regular regulatory reporting, preparation, and submission.
  • Compliance Advice: Advise key department heads, the UK Directors, and the Global CEO on compliance obligations of Unlimit UK Ltd, ensuring those responsible for the day-to-day management of the business are fully briefed.
  • Product Development: Advise the business on the development of any new products or services, including research and analysis of regulatory and compliance matters.
  • Team Management: Manage and provide ongoing compliance coverage for the UK and sometimes European business operations.
  • Regulatory Research: Research and provide actionable advice on regulatory and compliance matters, and as part of the wider global business.
  • Payment Systems: Handle participation/membership with local and international payment systems and payment networks and counter-parties.
  • Compliance Matters: Manage and support a variety of compliance matters on areas such as research, guidance, and advice to various functions of the company.
  • Third-Party Collaboration: Establish and ensure effective collaboration with third parties and external service providers.
  • Compliance Projects: Plan, structure, and implement compliance projects, management systems, deals, and collaborations.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a compliance department in a payments sector organization in EU/UK, and/or a banking sector organization, with exposure to acquiring, digital payments, and products.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Expert knowledge of EU/UK sector-specific financial regulation.
  • Business Judgment: Legal and business-friendly judgment, skilled in building consensus across cross-functional stakeholders and C-level.
  • Communication: Excellent research and analysis skills. Excellent communication in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Regulatory Experience: Prior employment experience within UK or EU Regulators (in particular the FCA), with a preference for those who have held an EMD individual position or worked within authorizations and/or regulatory compliance roles.
  • Compliance Audits: Prior experience within compliance audits or financial services advisory roles.
  • Cryptocurrency: Interest and exposure to cryptocurrency business and compliance.
  • Employment Law: Hands-on experience with employment law and corporate law.
