Salary

£30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Rehabilitation Therapist to join our critical care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to patients with varied conditions, including orthopaedic, medical, elderly rehabilitation, amputees, neurological, surgical, spinal etc.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To work as part of the Intensive Care Rehab MDT (predominantly Allied Health Professionals, Rehab Consultants, Critical Care Outreach and Nursing teams), Providing a high quality and comprehensive therapy service to patients.
  2. To work with adults with varied conditions, may include orthopaedic, medical, elderly rehabilitation, amputees, neurological, surgical, spinal etc.
  3. To work alongside the MDT and be confident with assessing and issuing basic Therapy equipment as service needs require (to include OT, physio, SALT).
  4. To work unsupervised as well as alongside the qualified AHPs and nurses.
  5. To provide information and advice to patients, carers and other health and social care professions on areas within the grades scope of practice, e.g. advise patients on exercise treatment programmes based on procedures and set protocols.
  6. Taking on routine procedural based assessments and implementing own treatment programme, through exercises and mobility rehabilitation individually or in groups.
  7. To regularly evaluate and analyse treatment programmes and modifies them without prior consultation with relevant AHPs, but escalating when appropriate.
  8. To regularly feedback to AHPs regarding patients' progress and to feedback regarding how delivery of service and policies impact on patients and the service as a whole, to ensure maintenance and improvement to quality at all times.
