Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive school community. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they reach their full potential.
The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support students both in and outside the classroom, providing one-on-one assistance or working with small groups. You will work closely with teachers to ensure that students with special educational needs (SEN) or other learning challenges receive the tailored support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adapt learning materials and strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Provide in-class support during lessons, helping students stay engaged and on task.
- Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) by working alongside classroom teachers and the SENCO.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting self-esteem and independence among students.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to ensure that students receive appropriate support.
- Contribute to the planning of activities and learning interventions that support the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
- Knowledge of SEN and an understanding of various learning needs and challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- A commitment to safeguarding and child protection, with all applicants required to undergo background checks.
