Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our well-established business that designs, manufactures, and tests industrial turbochargers supplied into the Power Generation, Marine, and Rail Traction industries. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for supplier category management, focusing on quality, cost, lead time, and stocking policy adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing terms and contracts with suppliers.
  • Introduce new products, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth introduction of new product lines.

Requirements

  • Flexibility with traveling, with regular visits to UK suppliers and occasional visits to Europe and Asia.
  • CIPS Level 5 or equivalent.
  • Experience working within a buying role, preferably from an Engineering business.
  • Structured and organized approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to create strong business relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
