London, Greater London, United Kingdom Buckinghamshire Council Full time
About the Role

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a highly skilled Service Manager to lead a team of social workers and family support workers in delivering statutory and targeted early help services to children and young people in need of support, protection, and care.

As a critical member of our team, you will play a key role in setting direction, monitoring standards, and providing a positive interface for staff working in a multi-agency environment.

Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, delivering, and reviewing social work and early help services, assuring the quality of practice, managing performance, and delivering value for money.

You will also develop and coordinate partnership working within the service, taking a key role in the planning and implementation of local service developments and improvements.

About You

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual with extensive relevant experience and expert knowledge in children's services.

You will have experience in leading multi-disciplinary and partnership working, as well as supervising and managing staff within a statutory children's social work setting.

You will possess excellent planning, workload, and project management skills, and the ability to manage change effectively.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

In addition, we provide a range of benefits, including a generous pension scheme, free parking across all office sites, and access to training opportunities.

We also offer flexible working arrangements, relocation packages for those interested in moving to Buckinghamshire, and a unified voice through our Employee Representative Group.

Our team is committed to promoting equality, fairness, and inclusion for everyone, and we believe that our workforce should reflect the diverse communities we serve.

About Us

Buckinghamshire Council is a successful, growing place with fantastic natural assets, a highly productive economy, and many resourceful and thriving communities.

We are far from complacent, and our new and ambitious unitary authority is well-placed to tackle the challenges associated with growth, an aging population, climate change, and inequalities in both opportunities and outcomes – particularly for our children and young people.

Our Children's Services team works collaboratively and at pace to make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people across the county.
