Nurse Consultant in Respiratory Health

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Nurse Consultant in Respiratory Health to join our team at The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary respiratory team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care across acute, community, primary, and secondary care settings.

Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annum

Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and developing the Integrated Respiratory Service within Hillingdon borough. This will involve working collaboratively with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to ensure joined-up care for patients across various care settings. You will also provide specialist advice to patients, carers, and other teams within the hospital.

Main Duties:
  • To plan, evaluate treatment, and care for patients using required assessment tools, agreed pathways, and clinical guidelines.
  • To provide clinical assessments in patients' homes, making management decisions with support from Band 7/Integrated Respiratory Consultant when necessary.
  • To participate in Integrated Care MDTs and case conferences.
  • To support admission avoidance schemes, including assessment of acutely unwell patients in various settings.
  • To support the Covid Virtual Ward, providing virtual assessments and monitoring.
  • To participate in audit and service development projects to assess service delivery and ensure best practice.


Person Specification
Essential
  • Diploma or degree in Nursing.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • Evidence of CPD.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a car.
  • Knowledge and experience in the same or related field.
  • Experience in managing respiratory patients.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of BTS/NICE/GOLD/GINA guidelines.
  • Sound Respiratory assessment/clinical skills.
