Senior Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Devon Partnership NHS Trust. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality occupational therapy services to our patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective care planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat patients with complex mental health needs, using occupationally focused evidence-based assessment and skills to provide therapeutic interventions.
- Lead on working with service users with severe/complex mental health needs, using occupationally focused evidence-based assessment and skills to provide therapeutic interventions.
- Support junior members of the team, providing guidance and supervision to ensure effective planning and delivery of the service.
- Contribute to the development of high-quality occupational therapy services through professional clinical governance frameworks, including audit.
- Provide professional advice and expertise to the urgent inpatient management team, ensuring professional representation in the local decision-making process and an awareness of the contribution of OT in acute settings.

Person Specification- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Evidence of further training, with particular emphasis on mental health
- Sound knowledge of current OT theory and practice
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent literacy and IT skills
- Ability to present information logically and concisely both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with complex and emotionally charged situations
- Be flexible and adaptable to change
- Sound impartial and objective judgement
- Innovative and creative thinker
- Have good problem-solving skills
- Ability to form positive relationships with staff at all levels, service users, and partner organisations
