Teaching and Learning Support Opportunity

Dedicated SEMH Education Assistant required to support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) related challenges in a primary school or specialist teaching facility.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to adapt lesson content and create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children
  • Providing tailored support and interventions to meet pupils' needs
  • Collaborating with teachers and other staff to promote positive behaviour and emotional resilience
  • Supporting individuals during unstructured times, such as lunch and break times
  • Encouraging social interaction with other pupils
Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant qualifications desirable but not essential
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to pass enhanced DBS checks

  • Previous experience working with SEMH needs or other behavioural needs
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
