Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced social work professional to join our Emergency Duty Service (EDS) team. As an EDS worker, you will provide critical support to children and families in need of urgent care outside regular working hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assess and prioritize service requests, arranging assessments or referrals as necessary.
  • To deliver comprehensive social work assessments and emergency interventions until the next working day when daytime services take over.
  • To conduct home visits and travel throughout the Kirklees area to ensure timely support.
  • To maintain accurate case records using IT systems, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Social Work qualification and HCPC registration.
  • Significant experience working with vulnerable children, young people, and their carers.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation and ability to apply it to practice.
  • Able to transfer knowledge and skills into new situations.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
