Job Title: Family Services Specialist III

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Family Services Specialist III to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, you will provide specialized services to clients, including interviewing, investigating, and testifying in legal proceedings.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide case management services to monitor compliance and ensure the delivery of appropriate services to clients.
  • Develop and implement service plans to ensure the delivery of effective services to clients.
  • Conduct visits and maintain contact with other professionals to ensure the well-being of clients.
  • Represent the agency at various functions, including making speeches and providing training and workshops on child and adult abuse and neglect.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
  • Considerable knowledge of social work principles and practices, human behavior and motivational theory, laws and policies related to human services program areas, and social, economic, and health problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to interview, assess needs, counsel, and refer clients to other resources as needed.
