About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead for Neonatal Services to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our paediatric department, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in neonatal care, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee clinical operations within the neonatal unit, ensuring seamless care and coordination with maternity services.
  • Collaborate closely with the perinatal multidisciplinary team to develop and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Drive the development of neonatal services, working closely with the paediatric governance lead to respond to safety incidents and neonatal risk management.
  • Participate in relevant audit and quality assurance processes, including the National Neonatal Audit Program (NNAP) and the Saving Babies Lives document.
  • Provide teaching and training at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, contributing to the development of junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MRCPCH or equivalent qualification.
  • Full GMC registration and licence.
  • Level 3 Child Protection Training.
  • APLS and NLS qualifications.

Desirable qualifications include an MSC in a relevant field and SPIN in Neonatology.
