Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Music Industry Executive to join our team at SUMO Talent as an Artist Career Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the career development and business affairs of our roster of artists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop Strategic Career Plans

Develop and implement long-term career strategies for artists, aligning their creative vision with commercial opportunities.

Pursue Growth Opportunities

Identify and pursue growth opportunities, including new music releases, tours, endorsements, and partnerships that align with the artist's goals and objectives.

Guide Creative Decisions

Guide artists on creative decisions such as album direction, brand image, and public persona, ensuring that their artistic vision is aligned with their commercial goals.

Negotiate Contracts

Negotiate record deals, publishing agreements, and contracts with agents, promoters, and labels to secure the best terms for the artist.

Manage Financial and Legal Matters

Handle financial and legal matters on behalf of the artist, ensuring that all contracts and agreements are in their best interest.

Manage Licensing and Merchandising

Manage and advise on licensing deals, merchandising, and sponsorship opportunities that align with the artist's goals and objectives.

Collaborate with Booking Agents

Collaborate with booking agents to schedule tours, live performances, and promotional appearances that align with the artist's goals and objectives.

Oversee Event Planning

Oversee all aspects of event planning, from logistics and contracts to budgeting and marketing strategies, ensuring that events are executed to the highest standard.

Requirements
  • Experience in Artist Management

5+ years of experience in artist management, talent management, or a related role in the music industry.

Proven Track Record

Proven ability to successfully manage the careers of artists, musicians, or bands, with a track record of successful music releases, tours, or endorsements.

Industry Knowledge

Strong understanding of the music industry, including recording, publishing, licensing, and touring processes.

Negotiation Skills

Experience negotiating contracts with labels, agents, promoters, and other industry professionals.
