Job Title: Secondary SEND Teacher

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary SEND Teacher to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEND Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning: Develop and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of each pupil, promoting social and emotional development, and speech and language skills.
  • Behaviour Management: Utilize a range of behaviour management strategies to create a positive and supportive learning environment, aligned with the school's policies.
  • Discipline and Support: Maintain a disciplined and orderly atmosphere, fostering an environment that helps pupils overcome barriers to learning.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Observe, monitor, and evaluate pupil responses through various assessment strategies, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
  • Inclusion and Welfare: Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring equal opportunities to learn and grow, and take an active role in safeguarding the welfare of students.

About You:

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Displays empathy and patience when working with students who exhibit challenging behaviours.
  • Has a natural ability to problem-solve and manage/modify pupil behaviour effectively.
  • Is organised, flexible, resilient, and physically fit.
  • Has a down-to-earth sense of humour and a positive attitude towards the challenges of working with SEN students.
