We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Zest Education Ltd. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students with severe and complex learning difficulties, ranging in age from 5 to 19.

Our school provides a nurturing environment where students receive the necessary support to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. We are looking for an individual who can build rapport quickly with the students, many of whom find it challenging to trust individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with students to enable them to feel safe and enjoy their time at the school.
  • Promote and encourage independence and personal development in students, maintaining high expectations of behaviour at all times.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and other teaching assistants to provide a supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, from 8:30 to 15:30.
  • Experience working with individuals with special educational needs, preferably within a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.

Zest Education Ltd is an REC audited agency dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years, and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

The salary for this position is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

This is a temporary supply work role.
