About the Role

The Responsible Person (RP) is a critical role at Boots, responsible for ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and regulatory requirements for medicinal products in the UK and Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a quality management system is implemented and maintained to meet regulatory and business requirements.
  • Monitor, review, and implement new and emerging legislation related to GDP and medicinal product wholesaling.
  • Develop and maintain initial and continuous GDP training programs for team members.
  • Perform self-inspections at regular intervals and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for national competent authorities, such as the MHRA.
  • Lead and develop direct reports, providing guidance and support to ensure team success.
Requirements
  • Membership of a recognized professional body, such as the Royal Society of Biology or the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
  • Expert knowledge of GDP and regulatory requirements for medicinal products in the UK and Europe.
  • Extensive experience using and maintaining a Quality Management System.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy and limited supervision.
