Technical Professional, Distributed Systems Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Professional, Distributed Systems Developer to join our team at bet365. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in low latency, highly available and scalable solutions, utilizing open source technologies in a fast-paced and delivery-focused company ethos.

The successful candidate will be working on developing concurrent distributed components, creating work effort estimates and contributing to solution proposals as required. Strong technical skills including exposure to server side development, functional programming languages such as Erlang, Haskell, F#, Scala or Go, experience with complex event processes and continuous query languages are essential for this position.

Additionally, excellent communication and team working skills, strong academic background, with a Bachelors or Masters in an IT related discipline or relevant industry experience are required. An estimated salary for this position is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:
* Developing low latency, highly available and scalable solutions.
* Creating concurrent distributed components.
* Working on Linux and GNU utilities.
* Supporting and enhancing the existing code base.

Preferred Skills:
* Exposure to server side development including services, systems, messaging and middleware.
* Exposure to functional programming such as Erlang, Haskell, F#, Scala or Go.
* Experience of distributed systems.
* Experience with complex event processes and continuous query languages.
* Client and server development experience.
* Ability to problem solve.
* Excellent communication and team working skills.
* Strong academic background, with a Bachelors or Masters in an IT related discipline or relevant industry experience.
