The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveying Lecturer to join our dynamic team at Kingston University. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education and driving forward research in quantity surveying and commercial management.

With a strong background in pre/post-contract cost management, aligned with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) standards, you will play a crucial role in educating future Professional Quantity Surveyors (PQS) and Contractor Quantity Surveyors (CQS), as well as advancing our research endeavours.

As a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying, you will be responsible for teaching cost planning, commercial management, and the quantification of construction works in accordance with the RICS New Rules of Measurement (NRM) and other relevant standards. You will also utilize digital tools, oversee contract practice and administration, and cover project finance, feasibility, and risk management.

The successful candidate will contribute to both academic teaching and research, fostering industry partnerships, and mentoring students. You will join a dynamic team within our department, known for its excellence in education and research.

We seek a candidate with extensive knowledge of quantity surveying in line with RICS standards. Essential Criteria (Qualifications)

Good Honours Degree in relevant subject discipline or equivalent

Fellowship of the Advanced HE (HEA) or willingness to work towards

PhD (or submitted and awaiting examination) or equivalence accepted in a relevant subject area, for example by publication or through appropriate professional achievement or willingness to work towards within an agreed timeframe

Subject specific qualifications/knowledge

Membership of a related professional body, e.g. CIOB and RICS
