Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Vanrath. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, with a degree or recognised professional qualification.

Estimated Salary: £33,706 per annum.

About the Position
  • This is a full-time position requiring excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • You will work closely with our Health and Safety Manager to provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a culture of health and safety compliance throughout the organisation.
  • You will assist in the development, review, promotion, and implementation of the Trust's Health and Safety policy and guidance documents.
  • The position requires collaboration with external consultants and liaison with relevant committees.
  • Experience in developing reports and policies/guidance is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide health and safety advice, guidance and information to staff and relevant committees.
  2. Develop and deliver training programs on health and safety matters.
  3. Maintain accurate records of health and safety training.
  4. Liaise with external consultants to provide health and safety services and training programs.
  5. Submit reportable incidents to the Health and Safety Executive for Northern Ireland (HSENI) as required by law.
Requirements

A Degree or recognised professional Occupational Health and Safety qualification is essential, along with 2 years' experience in a middle management role as a health and safety adviser. Alternatively, an HNC/HND or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety with 3 years' experience in a similar role is also acceptable.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary. Experience in developing reports and policies/guidance is also desirable.
