The Role

The Director/Senior Manager, Advisory role contributes to the delivery of large and complex cybersecurity advisory engagements. Key accountabilities include:

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cybersecurity advisory delivery: Deliver key parts of cybersecurity advisory engagements, coordinating across multiple stakeholders as required.
  2. Subject matter expertise: Provide cybersecurity subject matter expertise and consulting experience across capabilities, including cyber security strategy, risk evaluation, and specific domains such as supply chain security, cloud security, and enterprise technology risk.
  3. Programme management: Manage programmes to set objectives, scope, timelines, and budget, producing programme status reports and escalating potential delays or budget overruns in advance.
  4. Team engagement: Support MDs, Client Partners, and Engagement Leads with the provision of consulting services, including preparation of presentations, proposals, solutions, contracts, and other client-related materials, attending client meetings.
Expected Outcomes
  1. Establish trusted relationships with clients and ISTARI portfolio companies.
  2. Deliver target client impact, delighting clients with first-class delivery of projects.
  3. Deliver client engagements within set timelines, within budget, and to clients' satisfaction.
  4. Contribute to growing ISTARI's Advisory practice and help advance ISTARI's brand and reputation in the market.
  5. Help shape client offerings and contribute towards thought leadership.
  6. Work collaboratively with portfolio companies and support their growth.
  7. Understand market trends to help the Advisory practice feed insights into the Investment team.
Candidate Profile

We are seeking a Director or Senior Manager grade consultant with:

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Cybersecurity strategy design and delivery.
  • Minimum 8 years' consulting experience.
  • Cyber security consulting expertise and delivery of cyber projects.
  • Experience working within complex teams while delivering large and complex client engagements.
  • A self-starter who can thrive in an evolving start-up environment.
  • A good level of resilience, comfortable working with ambiguity, and keen to tackle challenges.
  • Experience and expertise in two or more of the following areas of client success:
    • Cyber Crisis readiness (ideally along NIST or similar model stages) and business continuity planning.
    • Transforming and third-party risk management and capability.
    • Securing critical digital and national infrastructure.
    • Architecting the Cloud for resilience and/or securing the journey to the Cloud.
    • Cyber risk quantification and using value-at-risk to drive leadership decision-making and prioritisation.
