The primary objective of this Category Buyer - Bagged Snacks role is to leverage data and market understanding to create new product ranges, pricing strategies, and sales-boosting initiatives that drive profitable growth and year-over-year expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement profitable new product ranges for upcoming seasons, focusing on branded and FMCG buying with an element of NPD.
  • Oversee the P&L of the category, including revenue, sales, margin, and promotional income.
  • Lead and develop innovative range plans around the categories, including bagged, snacking ranges with confectionery, crisps, protein bites, and kids' snacks.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity.
  • Lead and develop a team of 1 BAA or AB level.
  • Use data and market trends to generate new ideas for growing year-over-year sales and margin, delivering effective category plans.
  • Manage product performance within budget.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in buying, preferably in branded product ranges within food/FMCG or another fast-moving category.
  • Proven track record as a Buyer or Junior Buyer with experience in buying branded product ranges.
  • Desirable experience in food, health & beauty, household, snacking, gifting food, impulse, seasonal, biscuits, or confectionery.
  • Strong analytical skills and a head for figures, as this role is data-driven.
  • Experience in highly promotional categories.
