Head of Category - Health Category

Cedar is supporting a Public Sector organization in hiring a Senior Category Manager for their Health category. This is a permanent role with a salary range up to £80,000 on offer, plus additional benefits and perks.

This role will operate mainly from home, but may require occasional on-site presence in the North West for key meetings. As a member of the organization's Leadership Team, you will lead, manage and develop the Health category team to achieve high standards of team performance and collaboration.

You will provide strategic direction and oversight of delivery to the category, acting as a 'Category Expert' and supporting team members and stakeholders as needed. Your role will involve leading a high-performing team and driving transformational activities to improve service offerings and deliver ongoing value.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team to achieve high standards of team performance and collaboration.
  • Provide strategic direction and oversight of delivery to the category.
  • Act as a 'Category Expert' and support team members and stakeholders as needed.
  • Develop positive professional relationships and work collaboratively across the business to implement solutions.
Requirements:
  • MCIPS qualification or alternative comparable qualification.
  • Strong experience working in a similar role, covering roles in Healthcare Procurement, in the UK Public Sector.
  • Strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement Regulations.
  • Experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of Category Management principles and implementing Procurement/Sourcing strategies at a Regional or National level.
