We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Category Manager to join our Clinical Digital Solutions team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality procurement services to our NHS members and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead strategic sourcing programs for defined categories across multiple NHS Trusts.
- Take the lead on specific/allocated portfolios of sourcing categories and contribute significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets.
- Ensure contract compliance across the LPP, pursuing procurement excellence through the implementation of efficient and effective procurement projects within key markets.
- Work with the Assistant Category Director, Categories Director, and team to develop networks and provide input into LPP projects.
- Lead the set-up and/or work with established Product Evaluation Groups to carry out complex surveys, evaluate products, and fast-track product/service rationalisation decisions.
- Ensure processes are in place for effective, collaborative equipment purchases, trials, and long-term plans that allow for standardisation using evidence-based and innovative practice across the health economy of the region.
- Lead/facilitate strategic LPP initiatives such as sustainable procurement, local supplier development, and collaborative opportunities.
- Ensure that LPP is involved in local strategic partnership arrangements and regional economic forums to develop a sustainable and resilient health economy.
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and skills:
- Registered full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS)
- Educated to degree level and above or equivalent in-depth experience
- Masters level qualified or equivalent in-depth experience
- Project Management (Prince 2 Practitioner)
The ideal candidate will have senior specialist A/I commercial/industry experience in procurement and supply in a senior management role.
