About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Grosvenor Casino, Reading South. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the management and operation of the kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and presentation of menus and dishes
  • Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective service
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and stock levels
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and company policies
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff to improve skills and knowledge
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety regulations, and company policies
