About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Grosvenor Casino, Reading South. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the management and organization of the kitchen, ensuring that high standards of food quality and presentation are maintained at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and presentation of menus and dishes
• Supervise and coordinate the kitchen team to ensure efficient and effective food production
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to company policies and procedures
• Control and minimize waste, adhering to company sustainability initiatives
• Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are properly maintained and cleaned
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendors
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance culinary skills and knowledge

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen environment
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a focus on HACCP and allergen control
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train a team
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations
• Proficiency in kitchen software and technology, with a focus on inventory management and ordering
