About the Role:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Management Officer (Commercial Waste) to join our Waste Management Delivery team.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record in contract management, commercial waste services, and sales. They will be responsible for identifying and developing new commercial opportunities, growing existing services, and delivering sales and communications strategies to increase commercial income.



Key Responsibilities:


  2. Identify and develop new commercial opportunities to generate income and manage costs effectively.
  3. Grow existing commercial services, including district commercial waste, commercial waste from businesses, public weighing, and customer database development.
  4. Develop and deliver sales and communications strategies to increase commercial income.
  5. Optimise all aspects of the commercial service, including customer retention, waste handling, and budget management.
  6. Develop and implement savings initiatives, monitor and manage relevant budgets.
  7. Manage and operate small and medium value environment and waste treatment contracts, assist with the management of high-value contracts, and resolve issues.
  8. Support procurement processes, prepare contract documentation, including specifications and invitations to tender.


Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must hold a relevant degree or equivalent experience in commercial waste services/sales, contract procurement, or contract management. A COTC qualification or willingness to work towards it is also required.


You should have experience in identifying and developing new commercial opportunities, managing costs effectively, and budget management. Additionally, you should have experience in the procurement or management of environment and waste disposal and treatment contracts.


A good knowledge of the Municipal Commercial Waste Market, environment and waste disposal and treatment legislation, and experience in engaging with customers to resolve issues, developing partnerships, and contractual relationships are essential.


You should be able to analyse information, provide systematic evaluation of potential solutions, work to tight timescales, and achieve targets. Good communication skills, including negotiation, issue resolution, and outcome achievement, are also necessary.

Working Arrangements:

We offer flexible working arrangements, including term-time working, part-time hours, compressed hours, flexible start and finish times, home/remote working, and more. Discuss your requirements with us to find a suitable arrangement.



Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is £34,350 - £37,950 per annum. We offer a competitive benefits package, including a pension scheme, holiday entitlement, and training opportunities.
