About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Strategist to join our team at Deerfoot IT Resources Limited. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in providing high-level strategic financial support to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive financial business partnering services, offering strategic financial advice and technical support to senior managers and portfolio holders.
  • Provide added-value financial guidance to budget holders, managers, and Directors, supporting resource management and financial control.
  • Support business cases and options appraisals to drive decision-making and efficiency improvements, ensuring financial control and governance across service delivery.
  • Collaborate with senior finance colleagues to provide high-level strategic advice and support corporate initiatives, including budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Lead and develop a small team, including Accountancy Officers and Apprentices, to ensure the preparation and submission of financial reports, including year-end statutory accounts.
Requirements
  • Public Sector Experience: Previous experience in a public sector finance role is essential.
  • Qualifications: A member of a CCAB/CIMA body (or studying towards one) and actively engaged in CPD.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data, identify risks, and provide solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Capable of presenting complex financial information to a range of stakeholders, including senior managers and elected members.
  • Leadership: Experience in managing or mentoring finance staff, with strong organizational skills to meet deadlines.
