Job Overview

The Sales Executive will be a pivotal part of our team at Winter Gardens Blackpool, driving sales and promoting the Blackpool Conference and Exhibition Centre alongside other key venues. This role demands a dynamic individual who can manage multiple aspects of the sales process, from research and client liaison to the strategic planning of revenue opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Generate and meet sales targets.
  2. Respond promptly to sales enquiries, adhering to the handling process.
  3. Proactively market our venues to new clients and maintain relationships for repeat business.
  4. Conduct targeted research to identify and secure new event opportunities.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure high standards of event delivery.
  6. Work closely with internal colleagues to ensure clients' requirements are communicated effectively, consistently, and to a high standard.
  7. Analyse sales data to guide business decisions and manage client contracts effectively.
  8. Create bespoke proposals ensuring that each venue and Blackpool is represented in the best possible way.
  9. Provide financial updates on current and potential bookings.
  10. Management of client contracts.
  11. Attending external events to promote Blackpool.
  12. Monitor and regularly review competitors to ensure that Blackpool remains competitive in the events and hospitality industry.
  13. Undertake regular mail shots and familiarisation visits and follow-up tele sales campaigns to target markets.
  14. Undertake other duties as may be reasonably requested within the responsibilities of the post.

Person Specification

  1. Proven sales background with experience in the events or hospitality industry.
  2. Excellent phone manners, communication, customer service, and organisational skills.
  3. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop strategic solutions.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  5. Team player with a proactive approach and readiness to engage in new challenges.
