About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to own end-to-end operational activity for our seafood site, ensuring alignment with the overarching Seafood strategy and driving measurable improvement across the business.
The successful candidate will drive efficiency activities across workstreams, ensuring alignment with site and group financial goals. They will manage all aspects of the site's Operations and Despatch functions, acting as the interface between Hilton Seafoods, Hilton Group, and customer colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure regular data is provided for service levels, engaging customers and prioritising their needs.
- Lead and champion the business culture and employee engagement of operational functions.
- Provide long-term, medium-term, and short-term schedules and strategies to maximise production efficiency, labour utilisation, and minimise waste.
- Manage stock counts across areas of accountability, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Implement Visible Supply Chain (VSM) processes and drive path to future state.
- Complete operational paperwork and transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Progress team development needs and succession planning through PDRs, 1-1s, and team meetings.
- Maintain effective lines of communication between operations, SMT, and the rest of the business.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Food Science or Business Management, with awareness of world-class improvement techniques. They will possess strong stakeholder engagement and project leadership skills, experience in project management, and sound analytical and problem-solving ability.
