About the Role

The NHS South East London Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Communications and Engagement to lead our communications and engagement function. This is a pivotal role that will play a critical part in shaping the future of healthcare in south east London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications and engagement strategy that aligns with the ICB's goals and objectives.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the communications and engagement team, ensuring that they have the skills and resources needed to deliver high-quality work.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including health and social care partners, local government, and the voluntary sector.
  • Develop and implement effective stakeholder engagement plans that ensure the voices of local residents are heard and acted upon.
  • Manage the production and distribution of high-quality communication materials, including reports, briefings, and social media content.
  • Oversee the delivery of engagement activities, including events, publications, and digital content.
  • Work closely with the ICB's leadership team to ensure that communications and engagement activities are aligned with the organization's overall strategy.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior communications and engagement role, preferably within the healthcare sector or public service.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and building relationships with diverse groups, including marginalized communities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
