Mechanical Design Engineer for Product Development

BMR Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Bristol.

The successful candidate will have experience in leading others and working collaboratively with other teams, with a strong background in design work on electro-mechanical mechanisms and equipment.

Job Description

This role will task the individual in taking ownership of all mechanical aspects of a project, from initial concept through to build and support of commissioning and installation.

The ideal candidate will have advanced 3D design skills, preferably in SolidWorks, and experience in sheet metal design. They will also be confident in taking the technical lead in a team and possess excellent problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform design work on both customer and development projects
  • Communicate with design engineers and other teams to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget
  • Take ownership of all mechanical aspects of a project
  • Provide assistance during the build phase and assist with commissioning
  • Attend specification meetings with global customers to provide authoritative contribution
