We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Manager to join our team at Crux Product Design. As a Product Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple design and development projects, ranging from initial concept to product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing multiple design and development projects, ranging from initial concept to product definition, design & development, and transfer to manufacture
  • Leading and working with the project teams to solve challenging design, mechanical engineering, electronics, and software challenges
  • Ensuring goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Managing project timelines, budgets and risks
  • Ensuring clear communication and awareness of project status with respect to timeline, budget and quality with internal stakeholders at all levels including Directors
  • Managing, allocating and approving resource for projects, and managing interdependences between projects
  • Managing relationships with our clients, building trust and collaboration
  • Capturing business opportunities from ongoing client project activities
  • Creating project proposals/quotations including defining project schedules and budgets
  • Producing accurate and timely reporting of project status to clients and internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • A 1st or 2:1 degree in an engineering or other relevant discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years' project management experience, managing medical device design and technology development projects
  • A project management track-record gained within a highly technical and team-oriented environment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with experience of formal project reporting
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and work flexibly within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an articulate and diplomatic manner
  • Experience of planning multiple parallel tasks and defining project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Ability to track project progress and deliver projects on-time and to budget
  • Ability to address issues as they arise, and both make and drive decisions
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management

Desirable:

  • Experience working to ISO 13485 and ISO 14971, or to the equivalent regulations and requirements of the FDA
  • Experience working within a consulting environment
  • An industry recognised Project Management qualification or certification
